Biography
Jerry Bennett is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Privateer IT, which he established in 2014. A U.S. Navy submarine veteran holding a Top Secret clearance, Jerry led the company to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and HUBZone certification and is responsible for overall company leadership — business operations, strategy, business development, and market expansion.
Before founding Privateer IT, Jerry spent more than 20 years in enterprise architecture with Fortune 500 engineering companies, specializing in virtualization, cloud computing, and automation across federal environments.
At Harris Corporation he architected and delivered a $120 million Service Oriented Architecture and Enterprise Management Foundation federated data repository for the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and designed the virtualization and cloud environment supporting it from inception through sustainment. He developed and deployed a multi-geography continuity-of-operations failover strategy — the first at Harris to fail over a running production environment with no data loss in under two hours — delivered ahead of schedule and under budget, and identified a $37 million cost avoidance through analysis of the technology against contract service levels.
At IBM he worked as a business analyst and enterprise architect, creating IBM's IT Financial Management workshop to help customers distinguish true costs from perceived ones. He has also held senior roles at Sirius Computer Solutions.
Jerry holds a B.S. in Information Technology and is certified in ITIL, Scrum, and virtualization.
